Angela Warren

WELCOME, I’M SO GLAD YOU’RE HERE!

My name is Angela and I’m a full-time professional artist on a mission to create happy homes and brighten spaces.

I grew up in the Maine woods and have been surrounded by nature most of my life. I currently live on the Florida Gulf coast and love being near the water. All of my work is inspired by experiences in nature and living by the sea in Maine, Florida, and the Caribbean.

I currently work in my studio creating abstract paintings influenced by the landscape and light in Florida. St. Pete is my permanent home and I absolutely love living here with my loving partner, Megan and our two little dogs, Bootsie and Tupac.

I have a BFA and an MFA in painting, as well as over 16 years of experience in painting and teaching to all ages and levels. I’ve also shown my work in galleries all across the country.

Artist Statement

I experience nature in a way that moves through my body before it becomes an image. Light, color, and pattern create subtle sensations, like pressure, movement, or softness that turn into internal shapes and atmospheres. Painting is how I translate those feelings into something visible.

My work sits between realism and abstraction. Familiar subjects like wildflowers and landscapes give viewers an immediate connection, while the layered, more abstract passages reflect the internal responses that nature stirs in me. I’m not painting flowers as objects; I’m painting the moment of aliveness they create, the way a brief glimpse of color or light can expand something inside you.

Much of my inspiration comes from summers in Maine and my life in Florida, where the natural world is always shifting. In the studio, sketches, memories, and fleeting impressions evolve into paintings that hold both structure and spontaneity, clarity and softness.

My hope is that my work offers a pause, a feeling of recognition or calm, reminding viewers of the small, vivid moments in nature that often pass too quickly but stay with us in quiet, meaningful ways.
